Smoky Quartz is almost the default crystal in any crystal healing layout. It is grounding and protective, and can transform negative energy into positive energy. 
Smoky Quartz is a good companion for humans, because of the current state of climate it helps clear the heaviness or murkiness by staying grounded!
Smoky is a very grounding crystal and perfect with other crystals such as Moldavite which can send you out of body.
 
This cute point is also of Lemurian descent  - ridges on the side of the crystal have been left as imprints or database of ancient knowledge and information. Use the ridges during meditation to discover ancient knowledge & direction.
